This is a great technology for hdtv all the way to ethernet speed internet but has limited availability AND new wireless mobile technologies will approach these speeds at the same cost so fiber has lost its window T1's are still the most reliable and solid internet choice for corporate america. It's not the fastest or the cheapest. But it has the highest up time and the least potential points of failure since you are connected directly to the phone company Cable modem has come a long way. It offers very high speeds with reasonable consistency. It is however still a SHARED bandwidth system so if a neighbor downloads video streams of quality viewing material at 11pm, you're speed can be seriously compromised Reliable.
